Stone Threads jewellery and accessories at the multicultural fashion show during the Welcome Day Celebration on February 24. in Victoria, BC. Featuring signature pieces from the Boho line. including jewellery, and scarves. A big thank you to my lovely models. Brittany, Daniela, Julie, Almas and others.
The organizers of this event are Victoria’s Francophone Immigration Services and the Here magazine. Other contributors were many other community members and organizations. It was a true effort of many volunteers and lead by an organizing team.
The multicultural fashion show gathered various ethnic and culturally inspired fashion lines and designers.
Designers that participated at the multicultural fashion show, showcased the clothing and accessories presented by volunteer models. We saw African inspired lines from Pelumi, Emanuel, and Alima with her line Yene Design. All local newcomers from Nigeria, and Cameron.
Also, there was a fashion line called Red Soil that featured accessories and shoes. Additionally several local cultural groups presented their own traditional ethnic outfits. Groups that participated included: traditional Thai, Mexican, Croatian, and Korean outfits.
It was a great day, and I wish to thank all those that made it happen. Fiona, Here Magazine. Ximena, Francophone Immigration Services and Ken, newcomer from Kenya and seasoned event coordinator.
Also big thank you to Croatian Cultural Society of Victoria, and Mary Colak, Korean cultural group and Jaerang Lee, Fiesta Latina- Mexican folklore group.
Finally kudos to all our volunteers, especially models, as this could have been impossible without them.
